The Game Awards

The Game Awards of 2018 deserves a good flashback from us. Firstly, the awarded games are still on top. Secondly, the world premieres, which were presented on the ceremony, are about to be launched.

If you don’t follow this annual show, you should. Having a luxurious committee with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and more, as hardware producers in one side and Electronic Arts, Activision, Rockstar Games, and more, as software publishers on the other, this ceremony sets up the bar of the video gaming industry.

With that said, let’s take a look on the main awards.

The 2018’s edition started up with the Best Narrative Award Nominees:

  • Detroit: Become Human (Quantic Dream / SIE)
  • God of War (Sony Santa Monica / SIE)
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man (Insomniac Games / SIE)
  • Red dead redemption 2 (Rockstar Games) WINNER
  • Life is Strange 2: Episode 1 (Dontnod Entertainment / Square Enix)

Afterwards, it was time for the Best Performance Nominees:

  • Melissanthi Mahut – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  • Christopher Judge – God of war
  • Yuri Lowenthal – Marvel’s Spider-Man
  • Roger Clark – Red Dead Redemption 2 WINNER
  • Bryan Dechart – Detroit: Become Human

For the Best Score/Music category, the nominees were:

Against big competitors, God of War was indeed the main winner of The Game Awards night. Took home the awards for Game of the Year and Best Game direction. This third-person action-adventure game is a creation from Santa Monica Studio and published thanks to Sony Interactive Company.

Far Cry New Dawn is a product from Ubisoft Montreal. This game is a first-person shooter project placed in a post-apocalyptic world. Above all, you’ll have to explore the so-called “New World Order” in a way that you’ll be able to build up your homebase.
